In the exercise of its regulatory powers, the Portuguese Health Regulatory Authority (ERS) is responsible for issuing the regulations set out in its statutes, as well as those required to fulfil its duties. Where formal regulations are not necessary, ERS may also issue general recommendations and guidance.
